Hansal Mehta's directorial on Bangladesh's 7/16 terror attack titled Faraaz

After announcing his upcoming directorial featuring Aditya Rawal and Zahan Kapoor, Hansal Mehta has announced the title of the film. Set against the backdrop of Bangladesh's 7/16 terror attack, the film is titled Faraaz. The makers also dropped the first look motion poster of the film and the honours were done by Kareena Kapoor Khan, Emraan Hashmi, Ayushmann Khurrana, Taapsee Pannu, Rajkummar Rao, Kartik Aaryan among others.

Meanwhile, Hansal shared the motion poster on his Instagram page and wrote, "In the face of violent adversity, humanity wins! First look of #Faraaz, based on the true event of Bangladesh's 7/16 terror attack, a story that I've held close to my heart for nearly three years now!"

With his film, Mehta has collaborated with Anubhav Sinha who is co-producing the project with T Series. The Thappad helmer shared the teaser poster with a hard-hitting message that read as "A human story based on one the darkest days in modern history! A story of terror, loss, hope and faith."

In July this year, Hansal teased the first look of lead actors Aditya and Zahan who were seen in an intense look. He wrote, "Proud to present Zahan Kapoor and Aditya Rawal in my new film produced by @anubhavsinhaa @tseriesfilms #SahilSaigal. Shooting in progress. @zahankapoor @aditya___rawal."

As per Bollywood Hungama, Hansal said in a statement that Faraaz is a story of deep humanity and its ultimate triumph in the face of violent adversity. He called it a deeply personal story that he held close to my heart for nearly three years.

Mehta thanked Anubhav and Bhushan Kumar for backing the story and enabling him to make this thrilling drama exactly the way he visioned.

The Aligarh helmer concluded by saying, "It is exciting to collaborate with such diverse young talent on this labour of love. I can’t wait for the world to see this film."
