Kangana Ranaut and Hansal Mehta worked together on Simran and he believes that was a massive mistake.
Filmmaker Hansal Mehta has spoken about Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut and shared that she has limited herself. Hansal feels that Kangana has limited herself by making films about her. He cited the example of the actress’ latest release, Dhaakad.
Before Dhaakad’s release, Kangana tagged herself as ‘Dhaakad.’ She believed in the film but unfortunately, it did not work at the Box Office.
While talking to Mashable India, Hansal said, “She (Kangana) is a very talented actor. She is a very good actor, really really good actor who, I feel has limited herself by making films about herself.”
The filmmaker said that no actor needs to make characters become what they believe they are. He spoke about Dhaakad song ‘She’s On Fire’ and how it is Kangana, who aspires to be the person in the song.
Hansal shared that Kangana did not take over the edit for Simran. He said that she did not take over the edit because Kangana shot the film according to her will.
While the filmmaker said that he is not in a place to criticize Kangana’s choices, he reveals that they did not gel well on Simran sets. “Working with her was a massive mistake,” he stated.
Hansal Mehta made headlines ever since his OTT project Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story worked tremendously. The filmmaker is now working on the sequel of the series, Scam 2003: The Telgi Story. This time, the project will bring forth the story of Abdul Karim Telgi and the stamp paper scam.
