Halitha Shameem
Filmmaker Halitha Shameem is someone who has carved a niche for herself in a short span of time with movies like Poovarasam Peepee, Sillu Karupatti and Aelay. Her last outing was the segment Loners from Amazon Prime Video's anthology Putham Pudhu Kaalai Vidiyaadha which released earlier this year.
She had earlier mentioned that the film Minmini, which went on floors a few years ago, is her dream project. The shooting of the movie commenced in 2016, and she has been waiting for the young protagonists in it to grow up to complete its remaining portions.
Halitha has now took to social media to announce that she and her team are ready to begin the project's second schedule which is slated to happen in the next month. She posted a screenshot of her social media post which was out in 2016 when its first schedule was wrapped up in Ooty.
Gaurav Kalai, Pravin Kishore and Esther Anil play lead roles in the film; Gaurav and Pravin were seen in the director's debut flick Poovarasam Peepee, too. A couple of years ago, Halitha released a few stills from the movie and revealed that Minmini will be based on a survivor's guilt and the thin line between love and hate.
In earlier chat with OTTplay, Halitha had told us that she purposefully decided to take a break for a few years between the shooting schedules of Minmini because its story happens in two time periods and the characters in the first half of the film become slightly older in the second half.
She said, "I was keen on depicting the age growth of the characters organically. I thought that was a better idea than choosing a different set of actors to play their elder versions. I'm looking forward to release Minmini later this year. I will consider myself as a complete filmmaker only if I will be able to pull off this movie.
