Haddi first look: Nawazuddin Siddiqui looks unrecognisable as a femme fatale

The upcoming Zee Studios film is directed by Akshat Ajay Sharma.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui has a gift to slip into any role he takes up, with panache and skill, leading him to become one of the most loved and respected stars in Bollywood today. The actor is seeking to do it again for his upcoming film Haddi. The actor’s incredible transformation for the upcoming film was recently unveiled by the makers in the film’s first look motion poster.

The motion poster was unveiled by Zee Studios, who are bankrolling the film, via their official social media handles today. The poster shows a derelict godown surrounded by barrels, with a throne in the middle. Seated on the throne is an unrecognisable Siddiqui, with heavy makeup, long hair and dressed in a shimmery silver dress. Part of the caption on the post read “Crime has never looked this good before”.

The upcoming film is touted to be a noir revenge drama, which features Siddiqui in a never before seen avatar. The film, which went on floors recently, is slated for release in 2023. The film was bankrolled under the banner of Zee Studios and Anandita Studios.

Haddi is written and directed by Akshat Ajay Sharma. In a statement, obtained via Mid Day, the director said the film was a ‘double whammy’ for him, as it gave him the chance to collaborate with Siddiqui. Expressing his excitement to start filming, the director said that he hoped the motion poster does a good job at piquing audiences’ interest as the film took a ‘deep dive into a new world’.

Siddiqui said that although he has portrayed a range of different characters in his career, Haddi was ‘unique and special’ as it featured him in a never-seen-before look. Saying he was excited to start filming, Siddiqui added that the role would help him push the envelope as an actor.
