Ayngaran, the social drama written and directed by Ravi Arasu of Eetti fame, is all set to release on May 5. The film has GV Prakash and Mahima Nambiar playing the lead roles. The film's lead actor took to his social media page to make the announcement of the release wrote. He wrote on his handle, "#Ayngaran releases in theatres on MAY5th … from the director of #eeti .. a film made with good intentions and good content … need ur love and support … pls do share @dir_raviarasu #commonmanganesh @Riyaz_Ctc @Mahima_Nambiar #AyngaranfromMay5th #ayngaran (sic)."
GV Prakash is said to play a common man who questions the problems pertaining in the society. The star cast also includes Kaali Venkat, Hareesh Peradi and Aruldoss. GV Prakash himself has scored the music for the film, while cinematography and editing are handled by Saravanan Abimanyu and Raja Mohammed respectively. This is Ravi's second directorial after Atharvaa's Eetti. The film has been cleared with a U certificate.
The film, which has been long delayed, courtesy the global pandemic and some financial constraints, is finally hitting screens next month. Earlier the buzz in the industry was that the film will be released directly on OTT as most of the theatres had remained shut during the raging pandemic. But it looks like the makers have finally zeroed in on a theatre release.
GV Prakash's last release was Selfie, an action thriller directed by debutant Mathi Maran. The film has Gautham Menon, Varsha Bollamma, Vidya Pradeep, Vagai Chandrasekhar, Sangili Murugan, Sreeja Ravi and Subramaniam Siva as part of the star cast. Mahima Nambiar, on the other hand, was last seen in Oh My Dog, which had Arun Vijay and Vinay Rai. The film also marked the debut of Arun Vijay's son Arnav Vijay into films. The film was directed by Sarov Shanmugam.
