GV Prakash's all excited to join Suriya, Akshay Kumar, Sudha's much-awaited Bollywood flick

It was announced a while ago that Sudha Kongara's Soorarai Pottru, which had Suriya playing the lead, will be remade in Hindi. The latter's production house which bankrolled the original version, is producing the Bollywood version as well. It's now official that Akshay Kumar is headlining the remake.

The Bollywood star tweeted a video from the project's official launch. Suriya, too, expressed happiness in associating with the remake and posted a picture with Akshay and others. Though Soorarai Pottru was a direct-to-OTT release, which dropped on Amazon Prime Video in 2020, the remake is expected as a theatrical release.

GV Prakash, who composed music for the original, has been brought on board as the music director for the untitled remake version as well. The elated actor-musician took to Twitter to express excitement on working on a Bollywood project yet again.

He tweeted. "Super happy to to be composing for this classic …. With new exciting songs and bgscore. My best musical combination with director @Sudha_Kongara starts again with the Hindi film with @akshaykumar sir produced by @Suriya_offl sir … super excited about this album . A superb dance number is on its way (sic)."

A while ago, GV had said that he will work with Sudha and Suriya again for another movie. Movie buffs are wondering if he was referring to this project or whether the trio has plans to join hands for another film in Tamil.

It was only a few days ago Hombale Films of KGF fame had announced that Sudha will helm a movie under their production. The lead actor for the project is yet to be announced by the makers. For now, fans of Akshay Kumar and Soorarai Pootru have their fingers crossed as they can't wait to watch the B'town star pulling off the already successful role essayed by Suriya in Tamil.
