During the promotions of DeAr, GV Prakash revealed that he was initially offered to be part of a blockbuster Nani film
GV Prakash Kumar has been one of the most successful artists in Tamil cinema. The actor-composer, who is currently promoting his upcoming family drama DeAr, opened about foraying into Tollywood. During a media interaction, the actor revealed that he was first offered to play Dheekshith Shetty’s role Suri in Nani-starrer Dasara. “I was offered to play the role of Suri in Dasara. I missed the opportunity due to date issues. However, I am looking forward to doing straight Telugu films as well,” The Kalvan star revealed.
For the unversed, Dasara, directed by Srikanth Odela and starring Nani, was based on coal mining and the lives of three friends. Dheekshith Shetty, who played Suri in the period film, was initially not the first choice for the role. GV Prakash Kumar was offered the role, however, the actor-composer could not take it, hence the role went on to Dheekshith. The film went on to become commercially successful and earned positive reception. GV Prakash, who has composed several songs in Telugu, is yet to make his acting venture in Tollywood.

During a promotional event, GV Prakash revealed that he cried when he was narrated the script of his upcoming film DeAr. He revealed that the script impressed him the most and he nodded yes to do the project. “At first, it was Aishwarya Rajesh who had suggested this script. When they were narrating the script, I began crying during the interval sequence. I immediately said yes to the project,” the Kalvan star revealed.
Going by the trailer of the film, the plot revolves around Arjun (GV Prakash) and Deepika (Aishwarya), who get married through an arranged marriage setup. Soon after their marriage, the couple realise that Arjun is a light sleeper, while Deepika snores loudly. How their sleep issues affect their marital life forms the crux of the story.
The film is slated to hit the big screens on April 11.
