In a statement posted by them, they said, "After much reflection, Saidhavi and I have decided to part ways after 11 years of marriage. For the sake of our mental peace and betterment while preserving our mutual respect for each other. We kindly ask the media friends and fans to understand and respect our privacy during this deeply personal transition." The duo also requested understanding and support from the public during this time.

Saindhavi is a Carnatic music-trained vocalist who has been working as playback singer in the Tamil film industry. She has also sung for Tamil and Kannada films. Saindhavi made her debut by being a part of the Andangkaka song from Anniyan. She sang along with singers KK and Shreya Ghoshal.
Meanwhile, GV Prakash was recently seen in DeAr. The actor-composer is currently working as a musician in various films, including Thangalaan, Nilavu Enmel Enadi Kobam, and Suriya 43. He will also be appearing in the upcoming big-budget film Kingston for which he will compose the music too.
