Guru Somasundaram is one of the most talked about actors in the entertainment industry now, thanks to his striking performance in Minnal Murali. According to the latest reports, the actor is gearing up for a mixed genre film, Chattambi, next.

Helmed by Abhilash S Kumar, the movie is scripted by young filmmaker Don Palathara. According to the director, Guru Somasundaram plays Muniyandi in the film, a character inspired from real life. Sreenath Bhasi plays the titular role chattambi aka goon Kariya, and Muniyandi will be seen as a friend of his in the movie.

Giving more insights about the character, the director said Muniyandi is one of the many who came to Kerala from Tamil Nadu and indulged in cannabis cultivation, as quoted by ETimes. He also added that the characters in the film are quite strong. Kariya, a troublemaker, who is like the two-edged sword, is the only close person to Muniyandi. They treat each other as equals. He further revealed that the latter will be appearing around the halfway point in the film.

On the appearance of Somasundaram, the director said that he would have a handlebar moustache and a few other striking features. It has also been revealed that the plot of the movie is set in the backdrop of a murder that happened in the 90s. The film also has actors like Chemban Vinod and Mythili handling major roles.
