Guntur Kaaram is Mahesh Babu's latest film which has ended as a below-average fare at the box office. The action drama will end up in losses in many areas of its release which is not something that you see with Mahesh Babu films these days. In areas like Nizam, and the US, the film has lost big money and failed to even reach the break-even mark.
A few days ago, Netflix announced that Guntur Kaaram would be available for streaming from the 9th of February, 2024, and this news made many happy as all those who missed the film on the big screen can enjoy it on OTT now. But there are also a few fans who are disappointed with this release.
The sad part is that Guntur Kaaram is the only film of Mahesh Babu which will be out on OTT within one month of its release. This shows how disappointing the film's run was at the box office. As per the update, Guntur Kaaram was supposed to be out on OTT only in the last week of February 2024. But seeing the dull response, Netflix offered extra money to the makers and advanced the OTT release date.
None of Mahesh's films were available for streaming on OTT so fast and this aspect has made the fans a bit disappointed and they have pinned all hopes on Rajamouli's next. Guntur Kaaram was directed by Trivikram and there were so many expectations for this film. But sadly, the makers did not project the film properly and the routine mother-son sentiment disappointed the fans.
Thaman has scored the music and his album was also a decent hit. But as the film was released with other biggies, a low-budget film like HanuMan walked away with all the honors and has now grossed over Rs 250 crore at the box office. It is still going great in several areas of its release in Telugu states.
Mahesh Babu has just returned from Germany where he was undergoing look tests for Rajamouli's film. The shooting of the film will kick start in the second half of 2024. A special set is being laid at RFC for the shooting of this film. Watch this space for more updates.
