Director Gunasekhar upset as Rana Daggubati announces Hiranyakashyap- Read to know more
Gunasekhar and Rana Dagubati
Director Gunasekhar is known to make historical dramas and last directed Shaakuntalam with Samantha as the female lead. The film flopped at the box office and left producers Dil Raju and Gunasekhar in massive losses. But still, Gunasekhar did not lose hope and is gearing up for his new film which will be made on a prestigious note as per the news.
On the other hand, Rana Daggubati made an announcement about his new film with a backdrop of Hiranyakashyap which will have a story written by star director Trivikram Srinivas. Ever since this project Hiranyakashyap was announced, Gunasekhar is furious over Rana Daggubati. Going back in time, Gunasekhar was all set to take the same film with Rana on the floors but thanks to Covid, he decided to make it at a later date and hence started Shaakuntalam with Samantha.
Now, speaking in an interview, Gunasekhar reveals the backstory and how he worked hard on the film and now it is being made by someone else. Without taking Rana's name, Gunasekhar says "It is unethical on one's part to take the same subject to someone else and make it with them. I am not going to let this happen even though there are big names involved with the project. Why are they targeting me? Hiranayakashyap is my baby and now it is being made by someone else which is highly unacceptable".
But the close sources of Rana say that the backdrop of Hiranyakashyapa is the same but a new story will be written and made from a completely new angle. For those who are unaware, Hiranyakashyap is the twin brother of Hiranyaksha, the demon overthrown by Vishnu in his previous incarnation as Varaha obtained a boon from the god Brahma that he could not be killed by human or animal.
On the other hand, Gunasekhar has been in the industry for a long time now and even the likes of Rana and Trivikram are big shots. We need to see where this war of egos will end up in the days to come. For now, Rana is busy promoting Project K and his two own films at the Comic-Con event in the US. Let's see what he has to say on Gunasekhar's allegations.
