The title and motion poster of Santhanam's next, Gulu Gulu, was announced a few months ago. Rathna Kumar has directed the comic caper which has been produced by Raj Narayanan under Circle Box Entertainment. Santhanam plays an aimless wanderer in the movie which has Athulya Chandra, Namitha Krishnamurthy, Pradeep Rawat and Mariyam George playing crucial roles.

Santhosh Narayanan has been roped in by the makers to compose music; this is the second time the musician is teaming up with Santhanam after Parris Jeyaraj (streaming on Jio Cinema). Vijay Kartik Kannan and Philomin Raj have handled cinematography and editing respectively for the movie.

The team has now come up with its first look. With a carrot in his mouth, the vibrant poster has Santhanam, who is dressed up in a casual outfit, seen playing cards with a few people near a highway. A collided lorry and an over bridge, too, are seen in the background. The poster which has the tagline 'misadventures of a travel junkie' mentions that the movie will release in July.

Gulu Gulu is Rathna Kumar's third directorial project after Meyaadha Mann (streaming on Zee5) and Aadai (streaming on Amazon Prime Video). Along with the first look he released, he tweeted, "Here is the First look of my Third Directorial #GuluGulu. A Bumpy Roller coaster ride in Theaters from this July (sic)." Kamal Haasan-starrer Vikram directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj is his next project as a dialogue writer. Lokesh's Master (streaming on Amazon Prime Video) was his first film as a dialogue writer.

Jacki has helmed art direction for the film which has stunt sequences choreographed by Don Ashok. Santhanam, who was last seen in Sabhaapathy (streaming on Amazon Prime Video), has Manoj Beedha's Agent Kannayiram and the long-pending Server Sundaram directed by Anand Balki.
