After Raveena Tandon-starrer The Karmma Calling, which was an adaptation of the American drama series Revenge, Disney+Hotstar is now adapting the German TV series Bad Cop: Kriminell Gut.
Post the release of Raveena Tandon-starrer The Karmma Calling, which was also an adaptation of the American drama series Revenge, Disney+Hotstar is now all set to adapt the German television series 'Bad Cop: Kriminell Gut.' The original character in the show was played by David Rott and now Gulshan Devaiah will play the protagonist in the Indian remake of the 2017 thriller show. The show will also feature Harleen Sethi, Anurag Kashyap, Saurabh Sachdeva, and Sushmita Aishwarya in the key parts as reported by Peepingmoon.
This series is being directed by Aditya Datt, who is currently awaiting the release of Crakk-Jeethegaa Toh Jiyegaa, starring Vidyut Jammwal, on February 23. The German series has been adapted for Indian sensibilities by Rensil D'Silva and Hussain Dalal, who have placed the story in the underbelly of Mumbai.
This project is being produced by Fremantle India, the same firm that brought us popular reality series like Indian Idol and India's Got Talent. The launch is scheduled for the second half of 2024.
These days, it's usual for Indian shows to adapt to international series; some of these adaptations do well with viewers, while others fail miserably. It will be intriguing to see how Gulshan Devaiah, who is well-known for his versatile characters on screen, fits into this role. The show's excitement has increased with the addition of Anurag Kashyap and Harsleen Sethi.
"Bad Cop: Kriminell Gut" centers on two twin brothers: Jan, a lifelong criminal, and Jesko, a successful police inspector. Their worlds cross when Jan becomes involved in a police operation where Jesko's life is in danger, leading to a dramatic turn of events when Jan takes on his brother's identity to survive.
Gulshan has four other projects in the works: the Janhvi Kapoor film Ulajh; the second season of Raj & DK's Netflix series Guns & Gulaabs; Kaushal Ojha's family dramedy Little Thomas; and Jhansi Ka Rajkumar starring Namita Dubey.
