Gullak, streaming on Sony LIV, stars Jameel Khan and Geetanjali Kulkarni in the lead roles.
Gullak is back with its third season! The Mishra family, who won us over with the ‘kisse’ (anecdotes) of their house, have made a re-entry into our lives in the cutest way possible. The recently released trailer of the show promises that this season will win you over as well.
This time Santosh Mishra (Jameel Khan) complains about gaming fees. As always, Pub-G makes an appearance on the show. From there on, you understand that the Mishra family is back at being middle-class and the cutest bits of them. From not knowing how the word miscellaneous is pronounced to shying away from taking risks, Mishra family does it all even in season 3, as revealed from its trailer.

“Welcome back, ussi duniya mein, jahan middle class ne yeh thaani hai ki badvaal ki ummeed karna beimaani hai,” is such an apt introduction to the Mishra family, who is sure their life wouldn’t change even if they try hard to change it. That is exactly the sentiment of most middle-class families in India who fear going poor as well as getting rich by taking risks.
Geetanjali Kulkarni’s Shanti Mishra is savage as always and this time too, she gives it back by stating that people don’t earn by staring at their passbook for long. While she complains, Annu aka Anand Mishra (Vaibhav Raj Gupta) gets a job with the starting salary of Rs. 17,000.
Santosh shows his cool side again by being a supportive parent who flaunts his kids’ behaviour in his office. On the other hand, Shanti plays the perfect middle-class mother/housewife who has taken the responsibility to keep the middle-class household together. She does so by giving everyone in her family tough love. While Shanti perfects her role, Santosh is also the typical middle-class man who yearns for respect everywhere he goes and finds ways to not spend money, especially when he is just unemployed.
Gullak season 3 promises to be a heart-warming ride into the life of the Mishra family. It has already maintained the standards set by the previous two seasons and is expected to be just as much fun, if not more.
