From action to romance, Kambakkht Ishq has everything a Bollywood movie is made up of. It shows Akshay Kumar as a stuntman named Viraj and his stunts are complete Bollywood style action. He could jump from terraces and be completely fine. Also, who doesn't like a happy ending?
Even though the film has a lot of cuss words that are used to degrade each other, there is a lot more going on. Akshay has his own method of shutting girls up, which, if not applied in practical life, is entertaining.
Kareena’s character shows what love really is – patience. However, that aspect is hidden in the pretext of her hating every man alive. She has her own ways of showing love, which is through hate. Thus, how she deals with people, especially men, makes for a fun and hearty watch.
Akshay Kumar, on the other hand, is all about wrecking chaos. That is evident when he attends Lucky (Aftab Shivdasani)’s wedding party.
Like every Bollywood film, this movie also features the lead actor and actress’ paths meeting time-and-again. The songs of the film are situation-based, which is what an essential Bollywood movie consisted of. Lakh Lakh Nakhre is the prime example of that.
Here are some other moments which make the film an entertaining watch:
A playboy made to listen to Om Mangalam at the most awkward situations
Viraj (Akshay) is a playboy who has nothing to do with Gods. He doesn’t even respect girls. Out of the blue, he hears Om Mangalam even while taking bath and is told he might get married soon. This turns Viraj’s world upside down and creates a laughter riot for the viewers.
Om Mangalam being called the Indian National Anthem
As offensive as it is that the foreigners do not know what the Indian National Anthem is, there is a scene where every Hollywood actor stands up on hearing Om Mangalam, which is not the Indian National Anthem. The scene might be offensive but it is also a huge moment for the film.
The closure on why they both are scared of love
There is a scene where Bebo (Kareena) ends up revealing why she is scared of men and love. That is a very intimate scene between her and Viraj, one that is important for the movie. It is also how the two get closer than before. Its shows a whole new side of Viraj, one which you wouldn’t expect to see ever.
The surreal moment
Viraj actually got close to Bebo, closer than he has been with anyone. He went to the extent of proposing her with a ring in the most romantic manner possible. It is not like Viraj to ever fall for a girl, let alone think about marrying her.
Sylvester Stallone’s action-packed performance
Sylvester Stallone comes to save the day and Bebo with it. His stunts are OTT and the scene is nothing less than filmy.
Bebo breaks Viraj’s wedding
Before 3 Idiots happened to her, Kareena broke another wedding, one of her on-screen lovers Viraj (Akshay), in Kambakkht Ishq. The two make the impossible seem possible through their journey of hating the concept of love to loving life as it is.
