The film stars Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor in lead roles.
Jug Jugg Jeeyo promises to be a family entertainer and definitely does not run short of drama and laughs, as its recently released trailer suggests. The film is bankrolled by Karan Johar under his Dharma Productions banner. The ace filmmaker recently opened up about his initial days in the industry, and revealed who became his ‘first friend ever’ in Bollywood.
During Jug Jugg Jeeyo’s trailer launch event held in Mumbai recently, the filmmaker recounted the days when he and fellow filmmaker and producer Aditya Chopra, who heads Yash Raj Films, had attended one of their first Bollywood parties. As per a TOI report, Johar recalled how excited the duo were to attend a ‘film party’ and how no one had talked to them when they were there. And then, Johar said, that a ‘superstar’ had approached them and hung out with only with them.
Johar narrated the story while he was introducing Anil Kapoor during the event. The filmmaker talked about the amount of love he had felt for the star from that moment onwards. As his love for him grew, so did his respect. The filmmaker also appreciated the actor’s vigour, talking about how the latter seemed like the ‘youngest man’ even today, and had the ‘energy of a millennial’. “There is nobody, and I repeat nobody that can match the energy of this outstanding artist," he added.
In addition to Anil Kapoor, the upcoming film also stars Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani, Neetu Kapoor, Maniesh Paul and Prajakta Koli. Raj Mehta has directed the film.
Jug Jugg Jeeyo will hit the big screens on June 24, 2022.
