Comedian Sapthagiri, who headlined films like Sapthagiri LLB, Sapthagiri Express and Vajra Kavachadhara Govinda in the past, is yet again testing waters as a lead actor with a film titled Guduputani. Neha Solanki plays the female lead in this project where Raghu Kunche is cast as an antagonist. The suspense thriller with a gripping screenplay promises to unveil a new dimension to Sapthagiri's acting mettle. The film directed by KM Kumar is slated to release on December 25 for the Christmas weekend.
A special promo of the film was launched recently, coinciding with the release date announcement. The trailer of Guduputani, launched a few weeks ago, has the on-screen couple arriving at a temple, after which a priest is seen closing the entrance door. A series of mysterious events unfold at the site, where a woman is tortured by a group of men. There are several chases and characters who come in the way of the couple's journey.
A major part of the story unravels at the backdrop of a temple, while there's action aplenty as well. Two songs from the film, Neeli Ningi, sung by Sunitha and Party Hard, for which Mama Sing has lent his vocals, are out already. Parupati Srinivas Reddy, Katari Ramesh, familiar names in the real estate spaces, are turning a new leaf by turning producers for the film under SRR Productions.
Pavan Chenna has cranked the camera for the film which has music by Pratap Vidya. Bonthala Nageswar Reddy is the editor while Shaolin Mallesh is the action director of the same. Several distributors and buyers have expressed interest about the film, say the enthusiastic makers.
