Grey trailer: Raj Madiraju's edgy spy thriller about the murder of a nuclear scientist leaves you intrigued

Director Raj Madiraju, a former protege of Dasari Narayana Rao, who directed films like Andhra Pori, Rushi, Uncle and Aithe 2.0 in the past is back in action with a spy drama titled Grey. Grey isn't limited to the title or the characters here - Telugu cinema is set to witness a full-on black and white film after nearly four decades. Arvind Krishna, Ali Reza, Urvashi Rai and Prathap Pothen are cast in pivotal roles for the film produced by Kiran Kallakuri under Adwitiya Movies.

The trailer of Grey was launched in the presence of the cast and crew at Yousufguda Police Grounds, Hyderabad yesterday. The story revolves around a nuclear scientist, who's about to create ripples with a new discovery/claim. Every move of the scientist is being tracked while he's honeytrapped by a woman. Later, the focus shifts to a psychiatrist who's in an affair with a married woman and there's a murder. Ali Reza is committed to investigate the case but he too falls for the charms of a woman.

What connects a cop, psychiatrist, nuclear scientist and the mystery women? That's Grey for you. The film suggests that not everything in life need to be black and white. There are characters with many layers to them, there's a murder mystery, an extramarital affair and more. The director of Grey, Raj Madiraju, was inspired by a series of true incidents where 12 major nuclear scientists mysteriously disappeared from public light due to foreign intelligence agencies. He also wanted to explore the various dimensions of human behaviour through the tale.

M R Chetan Kumar is the cinematographer of Grey while Rajeev Nair is the art director. Prominent flautist Nagaraju Talluri is the composer of Grey. Edited by Satya Giduturi,the film's action sequences are choreographed by Wing Chun Anji with Hemanth Siree handling costume design. The film's release date hasn't been announced yet.
