Greta Gerwig will reportedly be tasked to write Disney’s live action Snow White movie that is in the works
Greta Gerwig is a filmmaker that is fast making a name for herself. The talented filmmaker is now being tasked to be the writer for the Snow White live-action movie that is in the works at Disney.
The DisInsider has reported that Gerwig has been roped in as a writer for the movie. The report also suggests that the filmmaker has already been working with Disney on the project and has submitted a draft.
The musical will go on floors next year and the rehearsal for the musical parts will begin in March according to reports.
The Snow White live action movie, which has had people talking has already cast its lead star, with Rachel Zegler taking on the titular role. Gal Gadot, who is one of the big stars today, will be seen in the role of the evil queen.
Rachel Zegler will also be seen in the lead in Steven Spielberg’s upcoming musical West Side Story. She plays the role of María while Ansel Elgort plays Tony.
Gerwig made her breakthrough with the acclaimed 2017 coming of age movie Lady Bird which had Saoirse Ronan in the lead. The movie received five Academy Award nominations including Best Picture, Best Original Screenplay, and Best Director.
Gerwig followed this up with the adaptation of Little Women which went on to win six Academy Award nods including Best Picture and Best Adapted Screenplay.
