The song has been composed by Shashank Sheshagiri, who also chips in with vocals along with Aniruddha Sastry and Madhwesh Bharadwaj
Kannada actor Srinagara Kitty is in comeback mode, one would think. This year, the actor has already had two releases, Avatara Purusha Part 1 and Garuda, both of which come a good four years since his last, Siliconn City. His next, though, is Kitty’s return as leading man. Called Gowli, the action-thriller directed by Soora and produced by Sohan Film Factory, also stars Paavana, Sharath Lohithashwa, Yash Shetty, Rangayana Raghu and Suddhi, among others.
In February this year, the team had released the teaser of the film, which gave audiences an indication of how fierce and violent it would be. The action-packed teaser also showed us Srinagar Kitty looking menacing with long salt-and-pepper hair and a beard to match. At the time, Kitty was still sporting the look, as the team had about 20-25 days of work pending. What is interesting is that there’s so much violence and bloodshed in a film called Gowli, which means milkman.
Last evening, they released the first lyrical video from the film, which had fleeting glimpses from the film, but those few moments were enough to highlight just how fierce Kitty’s character is. Called maha Rakkasa, the song, composed by Shashank Sheshagiri, has vocals by him, Aniruddha Sastry, and Madhwesh Bharadwaj. There is no update yet on when the film will release in theatres, but promotional material in the public domain is indication that it is not far off.
Beside Gowli, Kitty will have a far more prominent role in Avatara Purusha 2 – Trishanku. The actor plays a magician and the long-lost son of Brahma Jois (Saikumar) in the Suni directorial, which has Sharan in the lead. The second part of the film is expected to release during Dasara. Kitty will also be seen in a pivotal role in Prajwal Devaraj’s Veeram as well as Upendra’s Buddhivanta 2.
