Actor Mohan, also known as Mic Mohan is all set to ring in his birthday tomorrow (August 23) is one of the most popular actors in Tamil cinema. His screen presence was so powerful on screen that he carved a niche for himself despite the presence of actors like Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan and Vijayakant.

Gopurangal Saayvathillai
This 1982 film, directed by Manivannan, has Mohan, Suhasini and Radha in the lead. The plot revolves around Murali (Mohan), who is forcibly married to Arukkani (Suhasini) an illiterate woman he deems unattractive, and later begins a relationship with another woman Julie (Radha). The film marked the debut of Manivannan as a filmmaker and was remade in Hindi as in Hindi as Naseeb Apna Apna.
Kilinjalgal
Mohan's romantic drama Kilinjalgal was written and directed by Durai. The film revolves around two lovers from different religions, who fall in love and eventually earn the wrath of their respective families. The film ran for 175 days in theatres and was considered a super hit.
Idhu Oru Thodarkathai
This 1987 film had Mohan sharing screen space with Amala and Rekha. The film was directed by debutant Anu Mohan, a former assistant of R Sundarrajan. Idhu Oru Thodarkathai also starred Goundamani and Senthil, and had music by Gangai Amaren.
Thoongadha Kannendru Ondru
This 1983 film, written and directed by R Sundarrajan, has Mohan sharing screen space with Ambika. The duo play neighbours in the film, who eventually fall in love and get married in secret. But when Ambika's parents try to arrange a match for her, things go haywire.
Unakkaga Oru Roja
Mohan teamed up with Ambika for Unakkaga Oru Roja, which was helmed by CV Rajendran. The plot revolved around Kannan, a poor man, who is in relationship with his colleague. However, when he gets a marriage proposal from a rich woman, he abandons her. Meanwhile, there's yet another secret love brewsing. The film, directed by T Rajendar, also stars Viji, Suresh, Anuradha, and Senthamarai.
