Filmmaker Sreenu Vaitla, who last helmed Ravi Teja’s Amar Akbar Anthony, is back in action with an exciting collaboration. He’s joining forces with actor Gopichand for the first time for an entertainer. The film was formally launched today amidst several dignitaries from the industry. Venu Donepudi, a first-time producer, is bankrolling the film under Chitralayam Studios.

The film, tentatively titled Gopichand32, is a high-voltage action entertainer that has all the ingredients to please classes and masses. The actioner will be the first production under Chitralayam Studios; the founder Venu had reportedly taken the blessings of late Superstar Krishna for the same. It will be made on a lavish canvas and will be shot in India and select international locations.

Sreenu Vaitla is confident that he’ll be showcasing Gopichand in a never-seen-before avatar. The pooja ceremony held today, to mark the commencement of the project, witnessed the presence of several big names in the industry including legendary director K Raghavendra Rao, Ramesh Prasad, Adiseshagiri Rao, Suresh Babu and Mythri Movie Makers’ fame Naveen Yerneni.

Naveen Yerneni had switched on the camera while filmmaker K Raghavendra Rao sounded the clapboard and Sreenu Vaitla directed the first shot. The film will go on floors later this month. Gopichand32 has a capable technical team, comprising cinematographer (director) KV Guhan, Chaitan Bharadwaj for the music score. Gopi Mohan, Sreenu Vaitla’s closest aide, has written the screenplay.

Gopichand is simultaneously shooting for Kannada filmmaker A Harsha’s action film Bhimaa, produced by KK Radhamohan. His last release was Ramabanam, alongside Dimple Hayathi, Jagapathi Babu and Khushbu, directed by Sriwass, which will be out on Netflix on September 14. Sreenu Vaitla will be eager to bounce back with a bang and the combo looks apt for his sensibilities.
