The Gopichand, Dimple Hayathi starrer, directed by Sriwass, is produced by Dhamaka makers, People Media Factory
Director Sriwass, who delivered two hits with Gopichand in the past - Lakshyam and Loukyam - is teaming up with the actor again for an entertainer. While Dimple Hayathi plays the female lead, Jagapathi Babu, Kushboo essay key roles in the masala potboiler produced by TG Vishwa Prasad under People Media Factory. The 30th film of Gopichand is officially titled Ramabanam.
The film’s title was unveiled by Balakrishna in his show Unstoppable with NBK along with Prabhas. Balakrishna spoke of how Gopichand’s films always end with the Telugu letter ‘am’ - referring to Lakshyam, Souryam, Soukhyam, Ranam, Yagnam and how his own films have ‘am’ in the middle of the title (like Jai Simha, Narasimha Naidu, Simha, Veera Simha Reddy).
Prabhas, on the show, tells Gopichand that he can’t find get a better person than Balakrishna to come up with a title for his next. “Now that you’re on Unstoppable, I’ll announce a title that goes with your ‘am’ sentiment. I want your film to be an unstoppable force and hence I’m titling it Ramabanam. You won’t face any opposition after this,” Balakrishna told Gopichand.
Mickey J Meyer scores the music for the film whose story is written by Bhupathi Raja. Vetri Palanisamy cranks the camera for the same while Prawin Pudi is the editor. Kiran Kumar Manne is the production designer and Madhusudan Padamati pens the dialogues. Vivek Kuchibotla is the co-producer. Ramabanam is expected to release in the first half of 2023.
Gopichand’s last release was the comic caper Pakka Commercial, directed by Maruthi. Sriwass helmed Saakshyam in 2018, headlined by Bellamkonda Sreenivas and Pooja Hegde. People Media Factory, the producers, scored two hits in 2022 - Karthikeya 2 and Dhamaka. They announced another project in 2023, G2, the sequel to Adivi Sesh’s Goodachari, which will be simultaneously made in Telugu and Hindi.
