Good On Paper trailer: Iliza Shlesinger’s boyfriend looks ‘too good to be true’

Netflix has dropped the trailer of Good On Paper, which is apparently based on a story by comedian Iliza Shlesinger about her own life. The directorial debut of Kimmy Gatewood is set to release on June 23.

Iliza, plays Andrea Singer, a comedian in her mid-30s, who is trying to find a better half. As fate would have it, she meets a Yale alumnus named Dennis (Ryan Hansen) on a flight and soon both of them start a relationship. However, Andrea’s best friend Margot (Margaret Cho) believes that the man, who apparently has the perfect answers, is actually not what he appears to be.

The official synopsis of the film reads, “Andrea Singer always put her stand-up career first, and while dating came easy, love wasn’t a priority… until she meets Dennis, a quirky nerd with disarming charm who coaxes her into letting her guard down.”

Iliza is the winner of the 2008 NBC’s Last Comic Standing and has also hosted her own talk show named Truth & Iliza. She also does comedy specials for The Iliza Shlesinger Sketch Show on Netflix. Ryan, meanwhile, was also part of 2 Broke Girls and Burning Love.
