All About Golmaal 5 So Far

The last two months, the mainstream headlines in the Hindi cinema circuit were dedicated to Rohit Shetty’s cop universe as Singham Again released on the big screen. Starring Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Tiger Shroff, Arjun Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, and a starry ensemble, it was the talk of the town. Turns out, now that the movie has completed its theatrical run and is all set to make its digital debut, Rohit and Ajay have moved on to their next project, which is Golmaal 5 as confirmed by the duo. Now, as per new reports, Golmaal 5 is already in the making, and pre-production has begun. So here's everything we know about the future of the franchise and when to expect it.

Everything We Know About Golmaal 5

Started in 2006, the four main pillars of the Golmaal franchise are Ajay Devgn, Tusshar Kapoor, Kunal Kemmu, and Arshad Warsi. Apart from these four, many other actors, including Kareena Kapoor Khan, Parineeti Chopra, Tabu, Ratna Pathak Shah, Mithun Chakraborty, and others, have joined the franchise over the course of four movies. Namely Golmaal: Fun Unlimited Golmaal Returns, Golmaal 3, and Golmaal Again, these four movies have entertained audiences for close to two decades now. So the anticipation for the fifth film is not unwarranted.

In his recent chat with Pinkvilla Rohit Shetty confirmed that he will now be working on Golmaal 5 because he wants to take a break after making a massive movie like Singham Again and focus on something lighter and comedic. "I think Golmaal will be the next film before any cop film. I am looking forward to making Golmaal after a big project like Singham. It is light and cheerful,” Rohit confirmed.

In another interview, where Rohit Shetty spoke about the same, he said, "I would like to take a break from the cop universe... I have been continuously working on cop films since 2008, but now I am really looking forward to creating comedy films... Golmaal is coming next," adding, "I look forward to, like whenever it's such a big Singham. After Singham I want to be in that world where it is lighter and happier, and I'm not worried.”

So if Rohit Shetty begins working on Golmaal 5 right now, chances are we'll get the movie in early 2026. Chances are also high that Shetty might want to mark Christmas 2025, but that is highly unlikely, considering nothing is in place as of yet, or at least we do not know of it.

Meanwhile, there is no confirmation on who the cast of the film will be. Whether the movie takes ahead the story from the last film, which had Parineeti Chopra and Tabu, or features a completely new storyline is unknown. One thing is sure: the movie will continue to star Ajay Devgn, Tusshar Kapoor, Kunal Kemmu, and Arshad Warsi.
