Despite having several other fun and vibrant songs, Billie Eilish's calm and soothing 'What Was I Made For?' finally won the Best Original Song at the Golden Globes 2024. Co-written with her brother Finneas O'Connell, that rose above the rest. Standing bathed in the golden glow of victory, the siblings embraced as the award for Best Original Song was placed in their hands.

The Best Original Song category had three songs from nominated from Barbie. Billie Eilish and Finneas deliver a introspective ballad with 'What Was I Made For?', while 'Dance the Night' explodes with disco glitter courtesy of Caroline Ailin, Dua Lipa, Mark Ronson, and Andrew Wyatt. And Ronson & Wyatt double down with the technicolor metal anthem 'I'm Just Ken', With this powerhouse lineup, Barbie's chances of taking home the golden award are anything but child's play.

Billie Eilish's gratitude speech

Overwhelmed with gratitude, Billie Eilish showered all her gratitude on her brother Finneas, her family, the Barbie team, and countless others during her acceptance speech. She said on stage, "This is a shock, truly. Just one year ago, when we saw the film, I was drowning in misery and despair. Writing that song, it was like, a tiny life raft in a storm. And now, a year later, here I stand, feeling the unimaginable weight of your support and kindness."

The second victory that Barbie scored is Best Cinematic and Box Office Achievement at the Golden Globe Awards 2024. The live-action movie is already a box office winner as it had collected $1.4 billion last year, and beacme the highest grossing movie of the year. Now it has earned a trophy which solidified its dominance.

While Greta Gerwig said, "Thank you to everybody, all the Barbies and Kens in front of and behind the screen. It was the greatest, most joyful show of craftsmanship and passion I have ever seen", Margot Robbie, standing beside Gerwig, stated, "I would like to dedicate this to every single person on the planet who dressed up and went to the greatest place on earth, the movie theaters. And on behalf of Tom and David and Robbie and I, we want to thank the brave individuals at Warners and Mattel for taking an extraordinary risk, literally, like, inventing numbers to justify green lighting this and then standing by it every step of the way."
