Many film enthusiasts who were eagerly anticipating to see the movie were taken aback when it made its surprise debut on Amazon Prime Video because the makers had not made any previous announcements regarding its OTT release. The peculiar events that resulted in businessman Isaac John's premature death in the company lavatory served as the main plot point of the movie. A young police officer named Sandeep Krishnan and his team are given the case. Sandeep believes the death was a carefully designed murder and begins investigating, despite the initial impression that it was a fall gone wrong. Whether the murder was an accident or a result of revenge or personal grudges is the central mystery of the film.
The film's redeeming quality is how the ambiguity surrounding the victim's life and death is swiftly resolved by the creators, sustaining the audience's interest without becoming overly taxing. They also performed a fantastic job of avoiding overextending the narrative with unresolved subplots or using several decoy suspects throughout. Golam does not cease enthral audiences, despite the film's predictable moments.
In a recent interview with OTTplay, Golam’s director Samjad P S revealed information about the mystery thriller's sequel. He said that there will be a follow-up to the Ranjith Sajeev film, but further information will be disclosed at a later time. Sunny Wayne, Siddique, Chinnu Chandni, Alencier Ley Lopez, Srikant Murali, Sudhi Kozhikode, and Asha Madathil are among the supporting cast members of Golam. Praveen Viswanath and Samjad Viswanath wrote the screenplay.
