Chiranjeevi is always known to share a cordial rapport with the media through his four-decade career in cinema and he was no different today, fielding questions on various facets of his filmography and several issues concerning the industry. When a journalist had asked the star if he would be interested to featuring in a sequel of any of his films and what would be his pick for the same, Chiranjeevi came up with an interesting response.

While the journalist referred to the instance of Top Gun: Maverick, a sequel to Tom Cruise’s 1986 release, as an example for the same, Chiranjeevi said, “Oh, why not? If someone could come up with a sequel idea to my earlier films, I will definitely be up for it. I think there’s a good scope for one to come up with a sequel or a prequel for Godfather. It’ll be interesting to know what Brahma was upto, in between the years he was away from his father, in Dubai.”

“There could a good flashback idea to how his life panned after losing his mother and being shunned away by his father’s family. Even if someone among you could come up with an idea, I can’t wait to listen to it,” he said. He also called Godfather, an adaptation of Lucifer and not a remake. “It’s credible that Godfather managed to impress so many people despite Lucifer being one of the most widely watched films on OTT. There were several significant changes made to the original,” Chiranjeevi shared.

Godfather, starring Chiranjeevi, Nayanthara, Satyadev Kancharana and others in lead roles, was directed by Mohan Raja and produced by NV Prasad and RB Chowdary under Super Good Films and Konidela Productions. Nirav Shah cranked the camera for the film which had music by S Thaman. Salman Khan starred in a special cameo for the film that simultaneously released in Hindi and Telugu and is now streaming on Netflix.
