In two days, the much-awaited Shivarajkumar-led action heist thriller Ghost will be in theatres as this year’s Dasara presentation. The film, directed by MG Srinivas, has stiff competition at the box office, but the team is confident that on the merit of the quality of the content, they will not only survive this onslaught, but emerge victorious also. Amid last minute preparations for the release, and the team in Kochi for the Kerala promotions, they released a second track from the film.

Called the second OGM, this track, written and sung by Nishan Rai and composed by Arjun Janya, will be the last element that the team reveals ahead of the October 19 theatrical release. While the song has the right gangster vibe, the visuals leave much to be desired. The second OGM is a lyrical video with some fleeting glimpses from the Big Daddy teaser and the trailer and a few sequences from the making of the film.

Ghost has been produced by Sandesh Nagaraj for Sandesh Productions and is being distributed by Jayanna Films in Karnataka. The team is currently in the line of fire from netizens and film aficionados, after it emerged that the state’s theatre allotment is heavily skewed in favour of Vijay’s Leo, which is also releasing on October 19. In Bengaluru, Leo has far more screens, and, thereby shows than Ghost and bookings for the same have also been high, with Ghost yet to pick up pace.

Revealed: The ‘heist’ element of Shivarajkumar’s Ghost, as film’s synopsis emerges online

The action heist thriller, which takes place in a prison, with only about 20% of the narrative focusing on the gangster bit, is releasing simultaneously in Kannada, Tamil, Hindi and Malayalam. The Telugu version will arrive a week later on October 27, as the team was unable to get enough screens in that market, given that two big Telugu films are releasing.

Ghost has less promotion and Leo none at all, yet latter is on a box office rampage in Karnataka. Why?
