Kannada superstar Shivarajkumar captured the imagination of audiences worldwide with his cameo appearances in Jailer, which was headlined by Superstar Rajinikanth.
Kannada superstar Shivarajkumar is now waiting for the release of his upcoming movie Ghost. The movie is coming out at a time when Shivanna is still basking in the success of Jailer.
Shivanna captured the imagination of audiences worldwide with his cameo appearances in Jailer, which was headlined by Superstar Rajinikanth. And its success seems to still puzzle the Kannada superstar.
In a recent interview, Shivanna opened up about his disbelief over the success of his cameo role Narasimha in Jailer. "The way people see me everywhere in the world has changed. People call me Narasimha. I didn't know a 10-minute role could change my life like that," he told Galatta Plus.
Shivarajkumar's new-found global fame
Shivanna has been a top star in Kannada cinema since the 1980s. However, his screen presence garnered widespread attention after the release of Jailer. Written and directed by Nelson, Shivanna plays the role of a reformed gangster named Narasimha in the movie. And he becomes an ally to Rajinikanth's Muthuvel Pandian in his fight against Vinayakan's Varman.
"I am overwhelmed by the love I receive from people. People draw comparisons between my cameo and Suriya's Rolex in Vikram. This was unexpected. You can say Shivanna is acting, but I promise, on my mother's name, I'm still grappling with the whole situation. Even my wife is confused. People in Chennai, Hyderabad, and Dubai approach me to express their enthusiasm about Jailer,' he reflected.

Shivanna recalled an incident during a recent visit to the USA when he was swarmed by fans at a restaurant. "I was asked whether the attention bothered me, but I said no. I was thoroughly enjoying the admiration," he shared.
Jailer, which also stars Malayalam superstar Mohanlal in a cameo, is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
Meanwhile, Ghost will hit the screens on October 19, clashing with Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay's Leo. The spy-thriller is written and directed by M. G. Srinivas. And it also stars Jayaram, Anupam Kher, Prashant Narayanan, Satya Prakash, and Archana Jois.
