On July 12, Kannada filmmaker MG Srinivas revealed a special video called Big Daddy from his upcoming film Ghost. This, he said, was a glimpse of one of the three shades that leading man Shivarajkumar has in the heist action thriller. The teaser, which was widely appreciated, came out in Kannada, although Srinivas has said that they are looking at simultaneously releasing the film in Tamil and Telugu also. Hindi and Malayalam, he had said would be done only depending on demand for the same.

Within two days, though, the teaser dropped in a Hindi version, and fans have been saying that the dubbing quality is not up to the mark. Considering that Shivarajkumar only has a few punchlines in the teaser, they were expecting his voice in the Hindi version, too, but instead got a dubbing artiste. The film’s dialogue writer, Prasanna VM, who has worked on all of Srinivas’ movies, said that Shivarajkumar had, indeed, dubbed for the Hindi version of the Big Daddy video, but that the team could not run it as there were minor grammatical errors, and hence, replaced it with a different voice in the last minute. The effort, he said, would be to get the actor to dub for his character in most of the versions that the film will release in this Dasara.

Prasanna added that since Shivarajkumar is a fluent Tamil speaker, having spent his early childhood and schooling in Tamil Nadu, he will, no doubt, dub for that version. “Shivarajkumar recently dubbed for his portions of the Tamil and Kannada versions of Jailer, so, obviously he will do the needful for Ghost too. He will also brush up on his Telugu skills to dub for that too,” said Prasanna.
