Harika Narayan has crooned for Kodthe, a dance number lyricised by Ramjogaiah Sastry and composed by S Thaman
With most of the biggies in Telugu cinema making it to theatres before the end of March, Varun Tej would hope to make maximal use of the first half of April to entertain audiences with Ghani. The sports drama is gearing up to hit screens on April 8 across the globe. Directed by debutant Kiran Korrapati, the film features Saiee M Manjrekar as the female lead and also has a supporting cast including Naveen Chandra, Naresh, Jagapathi Babu, Suneil Shetty, Nadhiya and Upendra. Ghani has music by S Thaman and is banrkolled by Allu Bobby and Sidhu Mudda.
The video version of the party number Kodthe from the film was unveiled today. Actress Tamannaah Bhatia makes a special appearance with this number in Ghani, sung by Harika Narayan and lyricised by Ramjogaiah Sastry. The song, an out-and-out mass number is stylishly shot in the backdrop of a boxing ring, which smartly brings across the film's theme without losing out on its visual appeal.
Despite being a party number, the lyrics aren't exactly light-hearted but instead aimed to motivate the protagonist to showcase his worth in the boxing ring and never fear any opponent who comes his way. Kodthe is likely to be placed in a situation in the film where the titular character is staring down the barrel and is need of a push. The song has a liberal mix of English, Hindi and Telugu words thrown in though it's Tamannaah's moves that keeps you glued to the screen throughout.
George C Williams ISC is the cinematographer of Ghani, while it's edited by Marthand K Venkatesh. Ravinder Reddy takes care of the production design. Ghani has undergone several postponements since November 2021 and one would hope the release date isn't altered any further. The film will stream on aha post its theatrical release.
