Gehraiyaan title track: Soulful song shows the tumultuous and soft moments between Deepika-Siddhant

The upcoming film, which also stars Ananya Panday, will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on February 11, 2022

Deepika Padukone’s much-awaited film, Gehraiyaan, has unveiled its title track. The music video for the track gives viewers a glimpse into the ups and downs, Deepika and Siddhant Chaturvedi have to go through over the course of their affair.

The clip shows some soft and intimate moments that Alisha (Deepika) and Zain (Siddhant) share, while they keep their relationship under wraps from their respective partners, Karan (Dhairya Karwa) and Tia (Ananya Panday). We also see them connect, or trying to, with their actual partners, although the two don't seem to be as connected as they are while in each others’ presence. The video also has some emotionally fraught moments where Alisha and Zain’s inner turmoil seem to be taking its toll on them and their partners.

The soulful track is crooned by Lothika Jha, with its poignant lyrics penned by Ankur Tewari. The film’s soundtrack is composed by Kabeer Kathpalia (OAFF) and Savera Mehta.

In addition to Deepika, Ananya, Siddhant and Dhairya, the movie also features Naseeruddin Shah and Rajat Kapur in pivotal roles.

The upcoming film, helmed by Shakun Batra, will deal with the complexities and nuances of a romantic relationship while also exploring the themes of infidelity. Shakun had recently responded to allegations that the film was ‘glorifying’ infidelity, saying that he did not take a stance on the subjects of monogamy and non-monogamy through his film.

Shakun has written the film’s script along with Sumit Roy and Ayesha Devitre. The film is bankrolled by Dharma Productions, Viacom18 Studios, and Jouska Films.

Gehraiyaan will be available to stream on Amazon Prime Video from February 11, 2022.
