Earlier, during an interaction with ETimes, Siddhant was asked about his romantic angle with Deepika. To which he said that he thought to himself, "She's Deepika!" How is he going to woo her? The actor further said that she has collaborated with Shah Rukh Khan, Ranveer Singh, and Ranbir Kapoor, while calling them his competitors. He didn't want people to say he couldn't do it because it's a romantic film.

Shakun told him the story, and since he was eager to work with him, he said yes. Siddhant added that they knew there was intimacy, but they didn't know how much of it there was. As it wasn't erotic poetry or anything, the screenplay didn't make a big deal about it while the workshops and readings took place later.

Gehraiyaan is directed by Shakun Batra and is slated to stream on Amazon Prime Video on February 11, 2022.
