Deepika Padukone has always been on the frontline to raise awareness about mental health, drawing experiences from her own life. The actor is currently looking forward to her upcoming release Gehraiyaan, which resonates with her personal life. Refraining from tagging her character Alisha as a bold one, she emphasised her as a raw one. According to her, the role is a lot more raw than the characters she has played till date. Alisha is a completely emotionally stripped and naked role in that sense, who is vulnerable as well.

She also talked about how difficult it was for her to portray the character on screen. “I haven’t played one such role before,” she said as she explained how she has to bring out the character from deep inside. She further revealed that she really dug deep into herself to fit her into her role.
