The lead cast of the original will reunite for the film as well
There was a time when horror-comedies had a minimum-guarantee success rate in Telugu cinema - films like Prema Katha Chitram, Geethanjali, Chandrakala were trend setters in the genre and were widely viewed on television too. After sequels to Prema Katha Chitram and Chandrakalam, audiences will now get to watch the second instalment to Geethanjali, headlined by Anjali.

The sequel to Geethanjali, titled Geethanjali Malli Vachindhi, was formally launched in Hyderabad. Anjali in her 50th film plays the lead role in the second part of the horror comedy as well, alongside other actors from the original including Srinivas Reddy, Satyam Rajesh and Shakalaka Shankar. GV is the director. Kona Venkat is the presenter for the film produced by MVV Satyanarayana under MVV Cinemas.
Shiva Turlapati is also part of the production team. Pravin Lakkaraju, who scored the music for Geethanjali, will be back for Geethanjali Malli Vachindhi too. Sujatha Siddharth is the cinematographer for the same. Bhanu Bogavarapu is also one of the writers. The film is expected to go on floors shortly. Geethanjali, directed by Raja Kiran, completed its nine-year release anniversary recently.
The story of Geethanjali revolves around Sreenu(Srinivas Reddy), a film aspirant, who is desperate for an opportunity in the industry. He rents a flat in an an apartment along with his friend, only realise that it is haunted. A series of supernatural events scare the daylights of Sreenu’s flat mates. They later meet Anjali and share a warm rapport with her. However, their life takes a turn for the worse when they realise a shocking truth about her.
Anjali is also part of another biggie - Vishwak Sen’s action drama Gangs of Godavari, directed by Krishna Chaitanya and produced by Sithara Entertainments. She was seen in the second season of the action thriller Jhansi and has another web show, Bahishkarana, awaiting release later this year (on ZEE5).
