Priyanka Sharma plays the female lead in Geetha Shankaram, directed by Rudra
Mukesh Gowda, the popular small-screen celeb who made a mark in a handful of television soaps in Kannada and Telugu, is gearing up for his big-screen debut. While Mukesh forayed into the Kannada industry with serials like Nagakannike and Nagamandala, he carved his niche in Telugu television with Prema Nagar and Guppedantha Manasu. His film debut is now titled Geetha Shankaram.
Priyanka Sharma has come on board as the female lead of the film, which marks the directorial debut of Rudra. Balagam, DJ Tillu fame Muralidhar Goud also plays a crucial role. Renowned businessman K Devanand is turning producer for the love story produced under SSMG Productions. The film went on floors recently. The first look at the romance saga was launched to commemorate the Diwali season.
“This is a special Diwali for me and I couldn’t have been happier to be watching myself in a film poster. I am thankful to the director and the producer for choosing me for Geetha Shankaram. I hope to work hard and make my presence felt in cinema, just as I did on television. Our film is sure to impress youngsters; the story is an ode to pure love and affection,” Mukesh Gowda shared.

The director conveyed his gratitude to the producers and thanked the cast and crew for supporting him with the project. “I’ve run from pillar to post to tell this story and finally, my dream has come true. The film will appeal to all,” Rudra said. The producer chose Rudra’s script over 20 other stories that came to him and labelled Geetha Shankaram as a full-blown romance.
Geetha Shankaram’s new schedule will commence on November 14. Muralidhar Goud is cast as Priyanka Sharma’s on-screen father in the film. Abu scores the music for the film, which has cinematography by Uday Akula and will be edited by Maruthi Rao. Kalyan and Rudra have jointly worked on the screenplay.
