Gautham Menon's Dhruva Natchathiram, starring Vikram in the lead, has been in the production hell for nearly a decade now.
It's hard to get a movie made and it's even harder to release it in cinemas. All filmmakers will agree to this, especially filmmaker Gautham Menon. Despite being one of the top filmmakers in Tamil cinema, he has been struggling with his ambitious spy-thriller Dhruva Natchathiram. Even after completing the movie, the filmmaker has been grappling with several issues to release it in cinemas for nearly a decade now.
However, Gautham is very confident that his long wait to show Dhruva Natchathiram to his fans will come to an end soon. In a recent interview, Gautham said the film might hit the screens worldwide in the next few weeks.

Gautham expressed his confidence in the imminent release of Dhruva Natchathiram, describing it as a mainstream action-packed spy thriller with a lighter emotional tone. He further revealed his plans to develop the film into a franchise centred around the character portrayed by Vikram, should it resonate with audiences. He also mentioned the forthcoming release of the film's second song from the music album and the upcoming trailer launch.
Addressing the challenges faced in the film's journey, Gautham said, "There are small hurdles, but I am overcoming them slowly." He emphasized his determination to overcome these obstacles and deliver Dhruva Natchathiram to eager fans, expressing gratitude for their patience.
The filmmaker was optimistic about releasing Dhruva Natchathiram in cinemas this month or the next.
Dhruva Natchathiram also marks Gautham's reunion with composer Harris Jayaraj after a significant hiatus.
Dhruva Natchathiram initially faced a setback when actor Suriya parted ways with the project due to creative differences with Gautham. Interestingly, the directir even approached Superstar Rajinikanth for the film, but it was ultimately Vikram who took on the lead role. Production commenced in 2016, but the film's release has faced numerous delays and challenges.
Besides Vikram, Dhruva Natchathiram also features an impressive ensemble cast, including Simran, Ritu Varma, Aishwarya Rajesh, Parthiepan, Raadhika Sarathkumar, Dhivyadharshini, Vamsi Krishna, and Sathish Krishnan.
