Filmmaker Gautham Vasudev Menon, whose Dhruva Natchathiram goes postponed indefinitely, is currently waiting for the release of his film Joshua Imai Pol Kaakha. The film is said to hit theatres on March 1, with actor Varun of Bigg Boss-fame starring in the lead role.

Ahead of the release, the director praised Varun’s efforts to carry all the stunts without employing a body double. Varun plays a hitman in the racy action drama.

Joshua Imai Pol Kaakha will mark Gautham’s return to the director’s chair after the 2022 Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu. The upcoming film will be an action-packed drama with the protagonist expected to perform a lot of stunts.

Director Gautham revealed that how it is a challenge often to pitch an action film for any hero, because it involves a lot of obstacles, including body doubles and risk-taking factors. However, talking about how it was an ease to work with Varun, the director said that working with Varun was a "breeze" because he was not only very much eager to start shooting but also committed to the responsibilities his role required. Gautham also said that the film has a lot of elements apart from action, in form of emotions and romance, which Varun carried well. Varun also shot for the film without a body double, impressing the filmmaker.

Apart from Varun, the film also stars Raahei as the female lead, whom Gautham calls as the “heart of the film”. Actor Krishna will be playing the antagonist in Joshua Imai Pol Kaakha.

Written and directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, the film is backed by Ishari K Ganesh under Vels Film International. The film is shot by cinematographer SR Kathir ISC with editing handled by Anthony. Singer Karthik has scored the music for the film and stunts are coordinated by Yannick Ben.

The film has been certified U/A. Joshua Imail Pol Kaakha is about a hitman who under circumstances had to save a girl from a group of goons. Yogi Babu, Mansoor Ali Khan, Vichithra, and Dhivyadharshini play supporting roles.
