Actor Vikram and filmmaker Gautham Vasudev Menon's Dhruva Natchathiram, which was supposed to have been released last year, is yet to see the light of day. While the makers have postponed the film indefinitely, new reports have surfaced that the film might have a March release. An official release date has yet to be confirmed by the makers. Dhruva Natchathiram has been completed for some time now.
Dhruva Natchathiram to have a March release?
Dhruva Natchathiram, also called Dhruva Natchathiram: Chapter One – Yuddha Kaandam, was supposed to have made its theatrical debut in 2023. However, the long-pending project starring Vikram in the lead role has been facing constant financial issues, delaying its production and subsequent release. The film has been in production since 2017 and was first launched in 2013 with Suriya.

As per new reports, the film is expected to see daylight on March 28. However, the makers have yet to confirm the same. Dhruva Natchathiram is a spy action thriller that also features Ritu Varma, Radhakrishnan Parthiban, R Radikaa Sarathkumar, Simran, Vinayakan, Divya Dharshini, Munna Simon, Vamsi Krishna, Salim Baig, Sathish Krishnan, Maya S Krishnan and others.
GVM’s Joshua Imai Pol Kaakha belongs to the Dhruva Natchathiram universe
The filmmaker’s last project to hit theatres was Joshua Imai Pol Kaakha. The film was released in early March and stars Varun in the lead role. Also an action thriller, Gautham Menon stated that the film also belongs to the same universe as Dhruva Natchathiram. The film’s connecting character is played by Dhivyadharshini, who will play her part in both films. However, Joshua Imai Pol Kaakha opened to mixed reviews.
Dhruva Natchathiram was first announced in 2013, with Suriya in the lead role. However, due to creative differences, Vikram came into the project and took up the lead role in 2015. The film has music by Harris Jayaraj. It is backed by Gautham Menon’s production, Ondraga Entertainment, along with the Oruoorileoru Film House banner.
