Gangubai Kathiawadi’s Meri Jaan song Twitter reactions: Users praise Alia Bhatt, Sanjay Leela Bhansali

Gangubai Kathiawadi seems to be doing a lot of things right when it comes to stoking fans’ anticipation of its release, be it the intriguing story, Alia Bhatt’s incredible transformation as the titular protagonist or the film’s widely appreciated music. The latest song from the film’s soundtrack, titled Meri Jaan, has elicited a similar overwhelming response just as its predecessors did, leading fans to flock to Twitter, yet again to fawn over the latest track.

Most of the responses the song got on Twitter seem to be positive, with users finding that there is a lot they liked about the song. Bhatt and Shantanu Maheshwari’s stellar acting, the unique way in which the song was filmed and the emotions that figured in it, all caught users’ attention. ‘Amazing, mesmerizing, outstanding, mind-blowing’, were some of the words fans used to describe the track.

The song figured on the ‘favourites’ list of many as well, as users raved about how Meri Jaan was the best song from the soundtrack so far. Some users even admitted to listening to the song more than a few times, on loop since it came out.

While Neeti Mohan’s vocals were appreciated by many, users also said Sanjay Leela Bhansali had delivered a ‘masterpiece’ in the form of the song.

And of course, Bhatt’s fans could not contain themselves in remarking how lovely she looked and performed in the video.

Bhatt and Maheshwari’s chemistry in the clip was also widely appreciated, with many calling it ‘sizzling’.

However, there were a few among the crowd who were not wowed by the song as well.

The upcoming film also features Vijay Raaz, Indira Tiwari, Seema Pahwa and Ajay Devgn.

Gangubai Kathiawadi will be released in theatres on February 25, 2022.
