Gangubai Kathiawadi: Shreya Ghoshal teases new song Jab Saiyaan, from Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Alia Bhatt’s film

The makers had unveiled the first song from the film’s soundtrack, titled Dholida, a few days ago, which was sung by Janhvi Shrimankar and Shail Hada

Days after Gangubai Kathiawadi’s first song, Dholida, left audiences grooving with its spirit and vibrance, it seems they are gearing up to do it once again with another song. And to add to the excitement, it looks like the next one will feature none other than Shreya Ghoshal.

The popular singer took to her official Instagram handle to give audiences a taste of another track featured in the film’s soundtrack. In the short clip, Ghoshal is seen humming a soft melody, and at the end of the video, she remarks that something very exciting will be coming soon. In the caption of the post, she mentions Sanjay Leela Bhansali and A. M. Turaz, as the composer and lyricist of the song respectively. She also adds that the song she is seen humming was ‘close to her heart’.

Alia Bhatt also shared a teaser of the song on her Instagram handle. The song will be released tomorrow.

The first track of the film, Dholida was u nveiled a few days ago. The peppy track, which was sung by Janhvi Shrimankar and Shail Hada, has lyrics, penned by Kumaar.

The upcoming film, written and directed by Bhansali, is based on the story of Gangubai Kathiawadi, a young woman forced into prostitution in the red-light district of Kamathipura, who rose the ranks to become a respected brothel madam with ties with the mafia. The film is based on a chapter from the book Mafia Queens of Mumbai, written by S. Hussain Zaidi.

Alia Bhatt stars as the titular protagonist, and the film also features Vijay Raaz, Indira Tiwari, Seema Pahwa, Ajay Devgn and Emraan Hashmi.

Gangubai Kathiawadi will be released in theatres on February 25.
