Telugu cinema has come a long way in the last few years. At a time when only commercial films were being made, content-oriented films like Pelli Choopulu, Jersey, and Arjun Reddy came out and once again proved that content will always be king. In the last few years, the likes of Rajamouli have changed the way films are being made and now many Telugu makers are trying different stuff and are roping in big stars to play larger-than-life characters.

In the days to come, multiple gangster films will be made in Telugu cinema. When it comes to gangster-based films, RGV was the king and he made some big films based on the dreaded criminals. Once again, the trend has started as Tollywood will witness multiple films which will have a gangster setup. Salaar is the first one to come out in this aspect. Prashanth Neel is directing this film which has Prabhas in a never before seen role.

Apart from this, Pawan Kalyan has also signed a film called OG which is once again a gangster drama. Saaho fame Sujeeth is making this film in two parts and will showcase Pawan as a gangster who changes his ways for the good of society. In the past, Pawan had already done a film called Panja which also had the same setup. In form Adivi Sesh made heads turn with this film.

Yet another Telugu director, Sandeep Reddy Vanga is also making a gangster drama called Animal with Ranbir Kapoor. This film is a family drama against the backdrop of gangsters. Anil Kapoor plays a key role. A few days back, Sundeep Kishan's Michale was also released. The film is a love story set against the backdrop of gangsters.

Seeing this, so many directors are coming forward to make such films. Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2 will also see him as a deadly gangster who deals with red sandalwood. Well, we need to see how long will this trend continue in the days to come.
