It looks like yesterday that the whole atmosphere was filled with the chants and shouts of ‘Ganpati Bappa Morya…. Mangal Moorthi Morya’. And after ten full days, yesterday was the day when most of the Ganpati idols were immersed in various beaches and ponds. One such place which is always abuzz with activities throughout the day is Mumbai’s Juhu Beach. For the unversed, it is one of the many places where the Ganpati idols get immersed during ‘visarjan’ ceremony, which is celebrated with full music and dance.

Celebs came together in Juhu beach for clean up

Places like Juhu beach sees Ganpati idols of many shapes and sizes and also the materials with which it has been made. But, after the traditional ‘visarjan’ (immersion), there are many places like the Juhu beach, where the devotees tend to leave many of their unwanted materials. That’s why Bollywood actors Rajkummar Rao, Isha Koppikar Narang, Saiyami Kher and Manushi Chhillar joined hands in order to clean up the Juhu beach. These celebrities were a part of the initiative called ‘Cleanathon 2.0’.

Rajkummar Rao speaks about cleanliness

Manushi Chillar who was seen in a white T shirt and comfortable pants was seen cleaning up the waste materials left behind by the devotees during the immersion. She was accompanied along with Rajkummar Rao, Jackky Bhagnani, Isha Koppikar Narang and Saiyami Kher. As per a news report in ANI, Rajkummar Rao said that it was an important initiative and that everyone should take part in Modiji’s ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign as it was important for everyone to keep our city and country clean.

As per a news report, it is being stated that, cleanliness drive will be conducted on October 1 at as many as 168 locations in Mumbai. Besides the celebrities, the common man also participated in the aforesaid campaign with equal zest and enthusiasm.
