Filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi is all set to release his new film Gandhi Godse Ek Yudh, which is clashing with Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan on January 25
Celebrated filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi is coming back with a new film after nine years. Titled Gandhi Godse Ek Yudh, this film releases on January 25. It is ready to face a clash with Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's much-awaited Pathaan.
However, that doesn’t seem to bother the filmmaker. During the trailer launch of his film, Rajkumar said that he was not at all bothered about the date clash.
He told the media, “Shah Rukh is a very good actor and he is a respected star in our film industry. He is a very good human being and I know him for years. He is a very hardworking actor who puts a lot of effort into his films. I wish him all the best for his film. Yash Raj Films is also a very reputed banner who are coming up with a very ambitious film. Our film is not a song-dance film – it is a different subject altogether. People who have an interest in such a subject, will come and watch our film. I am not worried about these things (of release date clash and box officer number). I am just focusing on my film. Now that you people mentioned the date clash, I realised it...”
Since the media mentioned multiple times how the filmmaker is coming back with a new film after nine years, Santoshi shared, “I want people to erase the gap of nine years that I am coming back with this film. Watch this film like a film and judge it based on that.”
The story of the film shows the ideological differences between Nathuram Godse and Mahatma Gandhi. It is an attempt to put lights on both sides of the spectrum and the real reason behind Gandhi's assassination by Godse.
The film Gandhi Godse Ek Yudh stars Deepak Antani, Chinmay Mandlekar, Tanisha Santoshi, Pawan Chopra and Arif Zakaria among others. The music of the film is composed by AR Rahman.
The film releases on January 26. It will clash with Pathaan on the occasion of Republic Day of India.
