1937’s Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs had become Disney’s first animated feature film, long before the studio had enjoyed the dominant position it does today in the industry.
Based on the Brothers Grimm fairy tale of 1812, the film tells the story of a young princess who becomes the target of her evil stepmother’s jealousy because of her beauty. Managing to escape an attempt on her life, the princess finds refuge in the home of seven dwarves. Unbeknownst to her, the evil queen plots a second attempt to finally be rid of Snow White’s presence once and for all.
Snow White joins the growing list of Disney classics to get live-action adaptations. At present the studios is developing adaptations of films such as The Little Mermaid, Lilo and Stitch, Peter Pan and Wendy and Pinocchio.
