In September 2022, Bicchugatti fame actor Rajavardan began work on a sports drama called Gajarama in which he plays a professional wrestler. This was a role that the actor had to get in shape for and spent considerable time on his physical transformation for the same. The film is now ready for release and the team recently revealed a teaser to give audiences a sneak peek of what to expect. While the teaser has brief glimpses of wrestling on mud turf and a professional squared circle as well, the focus was largely on showcasing Rajavardan as an action hero, with some romance thrown in for good measure.

Speaking at the teaser launch, Rajavardan said that working on this film was an emotional journey for him. “I have grown up watching commercial films like Gajarama featuring other heroes and clapped and whistled for them. Seeing myself in a role like that onscreen makes me very happy. Gajarama is a film about dreams and the struggle behind making them come true. It’s a story that people will relate to,” says the actor, adding that the whole team’s effort was in making a film that will help them make a life out of a career in movies. There was a whole lot of hard work involved in the making, which Rajavardan says has come out well onscreen.

Wrestling, adds the actor, is a major portion of the film and isn’t just a 5-minute attraction. Rajavardan expressed his gratitude to director Sunil Kumar VA, for giving him a film that he believes will change the career of everyone associated with it for the better. The film has music by Mano Murthy and includes Shishya Deepak, Kabir Duhan Singh, Thapaswini Poonacha (Harikatha Alla Girikathe fame), Sharath Lohithashwa, among others and will be in theatres in the first half of 2024.
