Gadar 2 box office collection Day 8: Sunny Deol film enters Rs. 300 crore club in just 8 days

Gadar 2, featuring Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel in the lead roles, achieved a notable collection of Rs 20 crore on its second Friday.

Gadar 2, starring Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel in the lead roles, is dominanating the box office and regularly luring thousands of moviegoers to theaters even during weekdays.

Gadar 2: The Katha Continues is a follow-up to the 2001 hit film, Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. The film has now surpassed the 300 crore milestone in India in just 8 days. The film, which is directed by Anil Sharma stars Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, and Utkarsh Sharma in the lead roles. The patriotic drama follows the story of Tara Singh (Sunny Deol), who reaches Pakistan once again, this time to bring back his son (Utkarsh Sharma), who gets imprisoned by the Pakistani military during the war of 1971.

The movie receieved outstanding response by the audience and has been running successfully with blockbuster written all over it. The film had a tough competition with Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam starrer OMG 2at the box office but it has managed to dominate the box office solely.

On its second Friday, the film is running strong and has collected Rs. 20 crores at the ticket window, taking its total collection to Rs. 301 crores.

Even though the movie has only been in theaters for one week, it has already become the second highest grossing film of the year after Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan. Gadar 2 had earlier crossed The Kerala Story’s lifetime collection of Rs 242.20 crore.

On August 11, Gadar 2 was released in theatres and its first day at the box office brought in Rs 40.1 crore.
