Gaalivaana: ZEE5's Telugu web show with BBC, NorthStar Entertainments in the final leg of shoot

ZEE5 is turning up the ante with its Telugu content, both with its film acquisitions and web shows in the recent past and has been aggressive with its promotions. One of the more prestigious shows to stream on the platform soon, Gaalivaana, is nearing completion. The show featuring Radhika Sarathkumar and Sai Kumar in the lead has entered its final schedule of shoot recently. Chandini Chowdary, Nandini Rai, Chaitanya Krishna, Thagubothu Ramesh, Jyothi Pradeep and Ashritha Vemuganti play crucial roles in this saga directed by Sharan Koppisetty.

Amidst the shoot of the show's last schedule at Gachibowli in Hyderabad, the cast, crew came together for a press meet on Tuesday. Radhika said that she took a liking to the story of Gaalivaana instantly and said that it had several well-written characters. Calling it a family crime thriller, she claims to have enjoyed watching the show while dubbing for it recently. She lavished praise on her co-star Sai Kumar, adding that he did a fantastic job and expressed hope that Gaalivaana would click with audiences.

Sai Kumar mentioned that it was his long-time desire to act with Radhika in a project. He was happy to be joining the OTT bandwagon and associating with a young filmmaker like Sharan. He calls Gaalivaana both emotional and entertaining. He stated that his busy schedule with films didn't let him take up web shows in recent years and is confident that Gaalivaana would be a sure-shot hit. "Sharan's narration got me hooked and I am here," he said.

Director Sharan went to the extent of saying that North Star Entertainments is like a home banner for him and that this project landed on his lap unexpectedly. Working with senior actors was a pleasant experience, the filmmaker added. Gaalivaana, in his view, is a crime thriller with a myriad of emotions and called it a true test of his filmmaking mettle. Producer Sharath Marrar (NorthStar Entertainments) expressed his happiness at joining forces with BBC and ZEE5 for the show and added that it's expected to release soon.

Chaitanya Krishna, Chandini, Nandini Rai and Tagubothu Ramesh stated that they were glad to work with veteran artistes like Radhika and Sai Kumar for the same. Sricharan Pakala scores the music for the show which has cinematography by Sujatha Siddhartha. Pranay Naini and Santhosh Naidu are on board as the art director and the editor respectively. Neelima Marrar is the executive producer of Gaalivaana.

ZEE5 plans to release a new Telugu web show every month in the times to come and has also announced that Gaalivaana will have a second season. The platform had also recently commissioned a series titled ATM and is quite happy about the collaboration with NorthStar and BBC for Gaalivaana, said Padma Kasturirangan, Vice-President, Telugu original content (ZEE5). Gaalivaana is expected to release on ZEE5 in April.
