An adaptation of a European drama, Gaalivaana is directed by Sharan Koppisetty and jointly produced by BBC India and Northstar Entertainment
Streaming enthusiasts who have a taste for quality drama and enjoy thrillers in equal measure are in for an engaging ride in the coming weeks. Gaalivaana, an adaptation of a popular European series, is a redemption-based drama that promises to ensure absorbing drama and thrills for viewers. Directed by Kirrak Party, Thimmarusu fame Sharan Koppisetty, the Telugu show is produced by Sharrath Marar's Northstar Entertainment in collaboration with BBC India.
Starring Sai Kumar, Radhika Sarathkumar in the lead, Gaalivaana is all set to arrive on ZEE5 on April 14. The show marks the OTT debut of both the veteran stars. Chandini Chowdary, Chaitanya Krishna, Sharanya Pradeep, Nandini Rai, Thagubothu Ramesh, Surabhi Jayachandra Varma, Sri Lakshmi and Ashritha Vemuganti also essay important roles in the drama. The technical crew of the show comprises cinematographer Sujatha Siddhartha, art director Pranay Naini, composer Sricharan Pakala and editor Santhosh Naidu.
Neelima Marrar is the executive producer of Gaalivaana. The makers claim the show is a family-based thriller cum drama revolving around a drastic step taken by a family to protect their loved ones. This is the first time that a European show is being adapted in Telugu. Gaalivaana is said to have several powerful characters and boasts of arresting performances from its ensemble cast. The show's teaser and character promos were also launched recently.
ZEE5's major releases in the recent past include movies like Bangarraju, Rowdy Boys, Saamanyudu, Republic and the web show Oka Chinna Family Story. The director Sharan Koppisetty had also associated with the same producer for another web show titled The Grill, that premiered on Viu. In an earlier interaction with the media, the filmmaker called Gaalivaana a true test of his storytelling mettle.
